According to the IRS, 52.9 percent of taxpayers use a paid preparer. The tax code is complicated enough that doing it right matters: an underpayment triggers penalties and interest, and an overpayment is money you never get back.

Our preparers review your full picture, recommend deductions and credits that apply to you, and file on time. If you have unfiled prior years or an IRS notice already in hand, we can prepare and resolve in one engagement.

How this case usually unfolds

Returns filed right

Multiple 1099s, no records · Tax preparation

Multiple 1099s, a missing W-2, or transposed numbers can quietly inflate a tax bill for years. We pull IRS wage and income transcripts to confirm what was actually reported, prepare the return from real data, and amend prior years that warrant it. Clients are often surprised by what the transcripts reveal.

What our preparers do

01

Federal returns (Form 1040 and business)

Individual, sole proprietor, single-member LLC, S corporation, partnership, and C corporation returns.

02

State and local returns

All 50 states, plus city and local filings where required.

03

Unfiled back-year returns

If you have not filed in years, do not panic. We can prepare every missing year and file them in the right order.

04

Amended returns

If a prior return missed a deduction or contained an error, we can file Form 1040-X to correct it.

05

E-file or paper file

We e-file when possible for faster processing. Paper filing when a year is too old to e-file or the IRS requires it.

02

Filing deadlines and what they mean

The federal individual filing deadline is April 15 (or the next business day if April 15 falls on a weekend or holiday). State deadlines vary; most states use the federal date.

A six-month extension to October 15 is available, but an extension to file is not an extension to pay. If you owe, the IRS expects payment by April 15 to avoid the failure-to-pay penalty.

If you are already late, file as soon as possible. The failure-to-file penalty is ten times the failure-to-pay penalty.

Federal programs

Nine IRS programs. We look through them all.

Most tax debt is resolved through one of these nine programs. Which one fits depends on your numbers, your filing history, and assessment dates.

I was worried at first. I'm not really computer savvy. Pablo Nunez has so much patience with me. Talked to me, clearly explained, and walked me through computer difficulties. I'm not worried, and my stress levels have never been lower. Thank you, everyone at Innovative Tax Relief.

Frequently asked

What people ask about Business tax preparation.

Can you file prior-year or unfiled tax returns?

Yes. Filing missing back-year returns is one of the most common things we do. We pull your IRS wage and income transcripts, prepare each missing year in the correct order, and replace any Substitute for Return the IRS filed for you (which usually overstates what you owe).

What do I need for tax preparation?

For a current-year return: your income documents (W-2s, 1099s), records of deductions and credits, and last year's return if you have it. For back years or business returns, we can reconstruct much of it from IRS transcripts if your own records are incomplete.

Do you handle business tax preparation?

Yes. We prepare returns for sole proprietors, single-member LLCs, S corporations, partnerships, and C corporations, federal and state, in addition to individual returns.

What if I already received an IRS notice?

Tell us before you respond. The same team that prepares your return can represent you on the notice, so we can correct the return and answer the IRS in one engagement instead of two.
